When it became obvious there would be no answer he casually opened it, yet a pang of sadness went through him; Kaelem was sitting on the bed, back straight and eyes glazed over, staring at a stain on the wall. A single candle burned somnolently, as if taking on the characteristics of his son’s mood. Kaelem’s eyes widened when Aka stepped into the room.Chapter Twenty-Five
